Create a lace + tulle veil

You will be provided with fabric and supplies to create a cathedral length wedding veil with comb attachment and lace trim. Enjoy the step by step process of taking a veil from idea, to finished product. 

Welcome!

VEILS!! There is no doubt that veils add a touch of magic to any bridal look! I have been creating gorgeous veils for my brides for the past three years.

Veils are an amazing way to complete any bridal look, and it's always a pleasure to see how wonderful the veil compliments the dress, whether I created the dress or not. 

Veils play an important role in my business, both in terms of making my brides happy as well as bringing in a wonderful source of income. If you work with brides, adding veils to your products would be amazing for your business.

This course is for you if would love to learn the basics of sewing and creating wedding veils. I have designed this course with beginners in mind, and the principles taught in this course can be applied to a wide variety of veil designs.

What you'll learn...

You will learn about various types of veils as well as the various lengths of veils.

 

You will learn about the most common fabrics used in creating veils as well as the trims and embellishments used to decorate veils.

How to create your veil pattern for the style veil you are making.

How to lay out the fabric to cut your veil.

How to gather the tulle for the veil and prepare the gathered end for attachment to the veil comb.

How to attach the veil to the comb.

How to neatly cover the comb to create a beautiful, clean finish for your veil.

How to apply lace to veils to create beautiful details.

You will apply lace trim at the tip of your veil. You will learn how to layout lace trim on the curve of the veil, as well as how to stitch the lace to the tulle.

How is lace + tulle structured?

The course is in the form of an in-person 4 hour long group class. Generally, the class size in quite small, with a maximum of 8 students. Typically, the class is held on Saturday or Sunday. 

 

You will be provided with fabric and supplies to create a lace and tulle wedding veil. What you will need to bring is your scissors. A sewing machine is not required for this course.

There will be a presentation at the start of the class, and you will receive course notes at the start of the course as well .  These will be a good resource for you in the future as you improve your skills and create beautiful veils.

When are the classes, and how long are they for?

Classes will be held on a specified Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm. You are advised to bring a light lunch or snack. Classes are in-person group classes. 

Where will the classes be held?

Classes will be held at the Rostrevor Hotel, St. Lawrence Gap, Christ Church, Barbados. 

What is the class size?

The class size is from 5 to 8 students.

Who is this course for? How much sewing knowledge do I need?

It’s for anyone who would love to learn the basics of sewing and creating wedding veils. The course was created and designed with beginners in mind. At the very minimum, anyone taking this course should have basic knowledge of how to use a scissors, needle and thread.
